Sreedhareeyam Ayurveda Gaveshana Kendram was founded by the well-acclaimed Nelliakattu Mana, a traditional ‘'Namboothiri' family of Vaidyas (physicians). The history and association of Nelliakattu Mana with Netra Chikitsa (Eye Care) goes back a few centuries. The family is a repository of vast traditional knowledge in Ayurveda handed down through centuries within the family and from the clinical and pharmacological experience gained from years of intensive and dedicated practice of Ayurveda. The celebrated Vaidyas of the Mana of yesteryears include the Late Thrivikraman Namboothiri and his brother Parameswaran Namboothiri. They were renowned for their incomparable clinical expertise and knowledge of pharmacology of traditional medicine. This tradition was passed on to their next generation - Shri. N. P. P. Namboothiri and Shri. N. P. Narayanan Namboothiri.
The Ayurvedic physicians of the family today personify a fusion of scientific and technological advancements in modern medicine with traditional knowledge of Ayurveda. They are professionally qualified doctors with many years of intense clinical experience and expertise. They have in fact, created a line of treatment that has proven to be highly effective and beneficial for thousands of patients.
This Centre is now setting the pace with the valuable advice of Dr. N. P. P. Namboothiri and the traditional expertise of Sri. N. P. Narayanan Namboothiri, the senior most member of the family. INFRASTRUCTURE
The excellently maintained and well-appointed general ward, single, double, air-conditioned and non air-conditioned rooms, VIP rooms, Cottages and Guest House accommodate more than 250 in-patients and attend to more than 160 outpatients on daily basis. Starting out as an 8-bedded facility six years back, it has today grown to a 250-bedded hospital with patients from all over India and Europe, USA, Japan, UAE etc.
