Asian Institute of Gastroenterology, Asia’s Premier Institute for Gastrointestinal and Liver diseases and was established as a new concept of day care unit where major Endoscopic surgical procedures could be done on an outpatient basis without resorting to hospitalization.  Since then the institute has become one of the largest referral centers in Asia for Therapeutic Endoscopy.  Patients are referred from not only most cities in India but also from surrounding countries like Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Nepal etc., It has the credit of doing the largest number of ERCP procedures in the world.

Asian Institute of Gastroenterology is tied up with Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB) and foreign universities like North Western University of Chicago and University of Texas Medical branch for Genetic Research in many areas like Stem cell, Vaccine for Hepatitis E and Gene mutation etc.,    The Institute has taken several projects in diseases related to liver and G I tract and Pancreas.  As a result several papers have been published in Journals in India and abroad.

ACHIEVEMENTS
The Institute is headed by Dr D Nageshwar Reddy who has been the recipient of several national and international awards including the prestigious DR B C Roy Award given by the Indian Medical Council and Padmasri Award by Government of India.  Dr D Nageshwar Reddy is also the visiting Professor to the Harward Medical School – USA, Era Same Hospital – Brussels and Fujigoka Hospital – Tokyo.

The Institute is also recognized by the State Government and many of Public Sectors like State Electricity Board, BHEL, Food Corporation India, NFC, The Hindu, Matrix Labs, Midhani, Airport Authorities and many other companies.

Asian Institute of Gastroenterology is recognized by the World Organisation of Digestive Endoscopy (OMED), Germany OMED for its outstanding reputation for delivering International education in the field of digestive endoscopy. Asian Institute of Gastroenterology is also recognized as a Scientific And Industrial Research Organisation (SIRO) by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India.

INFRASTRUCTURE
